Prof. Mehrdad Zangeneh obtained his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from London University and his PhD from Cambridge University. He worked as a research fellow in Churchill College Cambridge before joining UCL as a lecturer. Prof. Zangeneh is involved in the development of computational design methods to improve the performance (and reduce development times) of turbomachinery such as turbines, compressors, pumps, marine ducted or unducted propulsors and marine waterjets. He has developed methods based on 3D inverse design and multi-objective automatic optimization. He has been involved in many collaborative research programs with major Turbomachinery manufacturers (such as Ebara Corporation, Nissan Motors and Hitachi of Japan, ABB Turbo and Sulzer Turbo of Switzerland, British Maritime Technology Ltd, UK DERA, Cummins Turbo and Napier Turbochargers and the US Navy and US Office of Naval Research). These collaborative studies have resulted in important breakthroughs in turbomachinery r
